Crew Lead (PV Solar Installer)

Fort Collins, CO

Sandbox Solar is not just another solar panel installation company. Sure, we design, develop, and install the highest quality solar solutions for homes, businesses, and communities. But a lot of companies say that. We like to say that we do the cleanest installs in town. But we’re more interested in what our customers and community say about us. You can find out a lot more about that and us at sandboxsolar.com.

Our install crews are the heart of our company. We are growing fast and looking to bring on some more hands to help us kick off the busy spring season right. But we need more than hands. We need experienced Solar Crew Leads who will be responsible for organizing, training, and managing crews according to project guidelines. Our Crew leads are directly responsible for the quality reputation of Sandbox Solar as the Top Solar Installer in Northern Colorado.

Our Crew Leads:

  • Lead by example and represent Sandbox Solar with the professionalism and customer service we’re known for;
  • Oversee installation of PV solar projects and are accountable to ensure that quality, efficiency and safety standards of the company are consistently met;
  • Take on the complex difficult projects to drive our mission of being the most technical and experienced installer with background knowledge in solar, batteries, generators, EV chargers, and whatever the future brings;
  • Document completed installations;
  • Ensure job sites are cleaned up upon completion of installation; and will
  • Drive and maintain company vehicles.

We are looking for experienced Solar Crew Leads who:

  • Possess a High School diploma; some college preferred;
  • Has at least a year of Construction Crew Lead experience;
  • NABCEP Installer Professional Certified preferred;
  • Has a valid Colorado Driver’s License and a record that our Insurer will love;
  • Possess a visible strong work ethic and commitment to quality; and who
  • Can climb ladders, work on heights (typically on pitched roofs), work on his/her feet, use a variety of hand tools, and lift, pull, and push 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.

This won’t be the right opportunity for those who:

  • Aren’t a proven leader who can inspire a team to optimal performance;
  • Expect to merely direct the work of others as opposed to working as part of a crew;
  • Are afraid of heights;
  • Can’t tolerate working outdoors in all types of Colorado weather…weird as that can be; or who
  • Can’t easily get along with a team of people working on a roof as well as the people living underneath it.
