We have created a new position as a result of our growth—actually, we have several new roles! This specific position is for a Project Assistant. The role involves administrative work that supports the Residential Project Coordinator. The Project Assistant will be responsible for handling administrative tasks related to the pre-construction process and assisting the Project Coordinator in client communication as directed.

Although this is a public-facing position, it is distinct from retail. Our projects unfold over several months, and our clients require updates and guidance throughout the process. We are looking for someone with strong active listening skills, a soothing and kind demeanor, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while communicating with our clients. After 60 days of in-office training, the position is expected to be approximately 60% in-office and 40% remote. The exact schedule can be adjusted to best fit the candidate's needs.

Here is a Sampling of What the Successful Candidate Will Be Doing:

  • Submitting Permits and Applications for Interconnection and related check-ins
  • Maintaining project records in our Project Management System
  • Actively participating in monitoring project flow
  • Assisting with project scheduling and customer communication as needed
  • Printing and maintaining plan sets to be ready for job sites
  • And since this is a rapidly-growing company, providing assistance to team members and helping with miscellaneous tasks we haven’t yet thought of are always a possibility!

We Require:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in data entry and interpretation, coupled with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and pivot on the spot to the highest priority as they arise. This is a time-sensitive position and requires a good sense of urgency and ownership of tasks and duties.
  • The desire to build our company's reputation in word and deed as we strive every day to become an influence for good in our community through self-sufficiency and sustainability.
  • Excellent active listening, communication, interpersonal, organization, and problem-solving skills to establish real relationships
  • Ability to learn how to read basic electrical diagrams and construction plans
  • Capable of navigating bureaucratic constraints and conventions while fostering long-term relationships with local building departments, utility providers, and inspectors, thereby ensuring confidence in our reputation for quality work and conduct.

This won’t be right opportunity for those who:

  • Can’t sit or stand at a desk for extended periods of time, lift up to 20 pounds, and work on a computer
  • Doesn’t genuinely enjoy helping others and creating relationships
  • Just want a job rather than a role in an incredible big picture
  • Can’t easily get along with a lot of different people-those who work on roofs, those who work in the office, city, county and utility permitting offices, and of course, our customers
  • Aren’t able to be a calming and soothing influence when emotions can run high as deadlines approach.

Bonus Points For Those Who:

  • Have customer service experience in residential construction and/or related trades
  • Are familiar with Airtable or other no-code databases.
